Kilauea native, mother, co-founder and owner of Meli Wraps, Melia Foster, began her plastic-alternative business out of a deep love for the ocean and the planet. She began finding more plastic than shells on the beaches she grew up on and knew she had to be part of the change she wished to see in the world. Meli” means honeybee in Hawaiian ʻŌlelo; Meli Wrap sources their beeswax from Hawaiian apiaries, helping to support the vital local bee population. And because Meli Wraps are made with only natural and organic materials, they’re 100% compostable.
