Hanalei Hau - Lloyd Boards

Jeremy Lloyd is a surfer, artist, and craftsman whose life has always revolved around the ocean and the woodshop. Originally from San Diego, he grew up just steps from the beach, spending his days surfing and learning the craft of woodworking in his dad’s shop. Those early years shaped not only his love for the ocean but also his respect and discipline for building with his hands.

Over 20 years ago, Jeremy made Kauaʻi his home, raising his family on the island and blending his two lifelong passions— woodworking and surfing. Through Lloyd Boards, he shapes surfboards from locally sourced wood, harvesting, milling, and crafting each board himself in a handmade mobile shaping room. Many boards he surf-tests himself in the same shores they are grown in.

Jeremy’s love for building doesn’t stop at surfboards— he has built a wooden sailing canoe for his family. For him, this art and work is more than craft; it’s a way of life— a celebration of the ocean, family, and the place he calls home.
